Every year the Ohio State Buckeyes are loaded on both sides of the ball. Malik Harrison is another Ohio State linebacker that played every linebacking position for the Buckeyes. Harrison has flashed first round talent, the only thing that needs to be determined is whether or not he will slip into the second round or if he can make a move into the first round.
Harrison does an excellent job of causing havoc for blocking schemes. Harrison will take on blocks and cause all kinds of problems for the opposing offensive line. Harrison has impressive agility and can make plays all over the field. Harrison does a good job of using his hands to fight off blocks and get into the backfield. Athletic enough to force quarterbacks to throw over him and in most cases cause passes that should not be thrown.
Harrison needs to be more patient when it comes to diagnosing the zone-reads. The play action that opposing teams use can fool him at times and that will lead to giving up the big play. While Harrison is an impressive athlete, he does have a tendency to get beat in man coverage. Harrison just needs to develop some patience and he has the makings of being a dangerous linebacker.
I have Harrison going in the mid-second to early third round of the draft. Harrison is an aggressive linebacker that has played all the linebacker spots during his career. Improving his pass coverage will be something that the team that drafts him will work with him to improve.
