Scouting Report: WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama

Athleticism: Jeudy’s athleticism didn’t blow anyone away at the combine. He’s still incredibly quick and plays on the field with a great speed about him. Pads don’t seem to slow him down. He’s fast, he’s quick, and he is so good at creating separation. 17/20.

Release/Route Running: Jeudy is smooth and crisp as a route runner, an absolute technician. He is masterful in and out of his routes. He hits his breaks with an explosion and insane quickness. Cuts on a dime. Separation comes naturally with Jeudy. He’s fantastic in his route running. His releases are incredibly quick and smooth. Jeudy has an arsenal of moves at his disposal to get off the line of scrimmage with ease. 24/25.

Catch Ability: Jeudy has great hands. You don’t see him drop passes very often at all, and when he does it’s a rarity. That being said, you don’t see Jeudy make a lot amazing of one-handed catches. Jeudy does such a fantastic job at creating separation that we really don’t see how well he deals with contact or making catches in traffic. That being said, he’s got very good hands and he looked good in his limited repetitions with those opportunities. 21/25.

Miscellaneous Abilities

Field Vision/Contact Balance: Jerry Jeudy’s field vision is somewhat limited. He is capable of making things happen after the catch with his physicality and his athletic ability. I don’t see him consistently finding or creating run lanes, and as a result, I think that Jeudy’s vision isn’t like some of the others in this class. Now his contact balance is good. Jeudy can bust through tackles in the open field and play with a brash, physical style. 9/15.

Blocking Ability: Jeudy is a willing blocker and oftentimes a capable one. He needs to work on his technique and work on staying with the block all the way through the play. 7/10.

Leadership/Personality: Jeudy has an incredible personality. He’s hard-working, he’s humble, and he puts his head down and works. 5/5.

Jerry Jeudy is the best receiver prospect in this class, in my opinion, because of his fundamentals and consistent hands. He’s a true technician, a real route runner and crafty in his ways. His ability to create separation is second to none in this class. His versatility gives him a good projection as well, as he can play anywhere across the line of scrimmage. Jeudy is a top ten prospect in this class and a surefire first-round pick.
