The Florida Gators have always produced their share of NFL talent and this year is no exception. Jefferson gave the Gators a consistent go to wide receiver and he is part of what is the most talented wide receiving class we have seen in years.
Jefferson lined up at all three receiving spots for the Gators. Jefferson is an elite route runner and that is how he creates separation. Jefferson is competitive and is able to get a good release against opposing cornerbacks. Jefferson is able to use his run after the catch ability to get up field quickly. Jefferson will help his quarterback out and always come back toward the throw.
Jefferson is a bit light for the wide receiver spot and that may cause a problem for him with some of the more physical cornerbacks in the NFL. Jefferson improving his blocking ability would also go a long way to keep him on the field. Improving his speed would also be of help in getting him on the field and seeing passes thrown his way.
Jefferson has the NFL bloodlines and is a player that will land on an NFL roster. I would have liked to have seen him do some work at the combine, but he has a chance to impress scout at his pro day. I still look for Jefferson to go in the late third to early fourth round of the NFL draft.
