Despite the record at the University of Arkansas over the past nine years, they have had some talented players in the pipeline. McTelvin Agim is another defensive player that has been a talented player, that has simply played for a mediocre team. Agim is talented enough along the defensive line to develop into a sleeper draft prospect.
Agim had a productive 2019 season for the Razorbacks. McTelvin started every game for the Razorbacks last season and was effective at both the defensive end and tackle positions. In 2019, Agim racked up 39 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and a fumble recovery for a struggling Arkansas defense. Agim has a good blend of speed and power that will cause offensive linemen headaches. The best part of his game is when he is pursuing the ball carrier, Agim will not give up on a play.
The areas of improvement are items that can be easily corrected and improved upon. Agim improving his strength will help him in regard to pass rushing and stopping the run. Improving the use of his hands to fend of blocks is another area where Agim could improve his draft stock tremendously.
Agim has started off Senior Bowl practices in a positive fashion. Agim has shown good speed and power and is improving his draft stock in Mobile. Agim will have a chance at the Arkansas pro day and at the scouting combine to continue his impressive climb up some draft boards.
The projection I have on Agim is one of a mid-fifth round to sixth round selection. Agim is a sleeper and I think a team will draft him earlier if the defensive line positions are hit early in the draft. I see his stock continuing to rise and he should have a solid career in the NFL.
