Charlie Taumoepeau scouting report

Athleticism: Charlie Taumoepeau is very athletic. Shows incredible strength as well. A very difficult man to bring down. Speed is an issue, as it looks like he might be a little bit too slow. Because his size isn’t dominant at his position, it poses a potential problem. Extremely explosive after the catch. Just a pure football player.

Route Running/Footwork: At his level of football, there was no covering him. Absolutely dominant from the line of scrimmage. Isn’t significantly sharp in his cuts.

Catch Ability: Very difficult to truly assess his catch ability because of incompitent quarterback play. Senior Bowl reps will be very big for him. Shows an excellent catch radius.

Blocking Ability: From what I have seen, not a gifted blocker in the slightest. Struggles to lock down corners on the perimeter because of his lack of speed.

Football IQ/Awareness: N/A.

Leadership/Personality: N/A.

Overall: Charlie Taumoepeau is an impressive athlete on the FCS level. Because of the utter incompitency on the team around him, it’s very hard to gage just how effective he could be on a team on the next level. The potential is certainly there, because it’s clear with every catch that this guy is explosive with the ball in his hands. The problems with his size being a bit small for a tight end, the lack of blocking skills and the unknown will probably drop his stock, but the Senior Bowl means everything for him. Day three prospect.
