Adam Trautman scouting report

Athleticism: Adam Trautman is very athletic. A very big dude who has the ability to move. Very quick and fluid. He has good speed, especially considering his size. Wouldn’t be surprised if Trautman runs a sub 4.6 forty.

Release/Route Running: Trautman has a natural route-running ability. His quick feet and urgency are very attractive. Moves by defenders with minimal contact.

Catch Ability: Excellent catchability. Uses his frame to box out defenders. He uses his athleticism and size to beat defenders in the air. Absolutely dominant force. While the defenders he is going against are on the FCS level, Trautman will have a huge opportunity to showcase his talent in Mobile at the Senior Bowl.

Blocking Ability: Trautman is a solid blocker at the FCS level. He is able to impact multiple levels with multiple blocks in the same play, moving run plays to the next level. Handles linebacker and defensive linemen well. I am very impressed with his ability to block.

Football IQ/Awareness: Trautman shows excellent awareness and recognition skills, especially as a blocker.

Leadership/Personality: N/A.

Overall: Adam Trautman is a fun prospect to watch on film. He has incredible athleticism that translates to any level of football. While the Senior Bowl will really show us just how refined Trautman is as a prospect, his ceiling will be enough to interest NFL teams looking for a difference-maker at the tight end position. Right now, Trautman is a late day two – early day three type of prospect.
