Jordan Love scouting report

Arm Talent: Jordan Love is oozing with natural arm talent. The ball simply pops when it leaves his hands. Excellent velocity. Love knows when he needs to use touch, and he does so very well. Ensures his release is clean, prioritizing the action in his upper body. Love is capable of releasing from multiple platforms and throws well on the move. 18/20.

Accuracy/Placement: Jordan Love is accurate, but, as I like to say, he is box accurate and not pinpoint. He can get the ball there consistently, it’s just anywhere into a three-foot box instead of a one-foot circle. Love generally places the ball well, though he will endanger his receivers trying to create the big play. 14/25.

Pocket Presence/Footwork: Pocket presence is there, and he can make some throws from it. He has pretty good awareness too, knows when to move in the pocket and where to go. The footwork is clean for the most part. He doesn’t get lazy with it. 15/20.

Mobility/Play Creation: The strength of his game. Love can extend plays outside of the pocket and is very mobile. Looks to throw, isn’t much of a runner. Throws extremely well on the move. 14/20.

Football IQ/Field Vision: Love shows good IQ, and a quick processor when going through progressions. He appears to be late with most of his quick timing throws. Makes horrific decisions sometimes and it limits his potential on tape. 8/15.

Leadership/Personality: Jordan Love seems to be a good person. With the NFL looking to move on from marijuana being an issue within the league, the charges that he received in January for possession won’t be the issue that it was previously. I think some people question just how seriously he takes football. 4/5.

Overall: There are a lot of tools here that NFL teams will enjoy, and that’s the first reaffirming thing for Love. For a quarterback class that may not be as deep as we had previously thought, Love has an opportunity to rise and establish himself as one of the top prospects in this class. He’s a day two guy on tape, with potential to be selected late first.
