Kurt Rawlings scouting report

Arm Talent: Not the strongest of arms in the country, but Kurt Rawlings has excellent touch on his throws. Reminds me of Boise State’s Brett Rypien in that regard. Has the arm strength to push the ball fifty-sixty yards, but doesn’t have “pop” in the ball.

Accuracy/Placement: Accuracy and placement are spotty. His throws are all over the place, especially when on the move.

Pocket Presence/Footwork: Has a natural feel for the pocket, moves well within it and senses pressure well. Footwork has potential but needs work.

Mobility/Play Creation: Rawlings is an athletic player. While he is mobile in the pocket, it’s in a running sense and not in a possibility to extend the play sense. He doesn’t keep his eyes down the field while moving out of the pocket.

Football IQ/Field Vision: Seems to see the field pretty well when given time. Reads defenses well. The offensive scheme really limited his abilities and what I can see him accomplish.

Leadership/Personality: N/A.

Overall: Kurt Rawlings is a very raw project, but the potential to develop is there. His tape is oozing with potential, and some team is going to want him to start on their practice squad and see where he can go.
