Home of the NFL Offseason

RB Kylin Hill, Mississippi State

#8
HT: 5’11”
WT: 215 lbs
DOB: 8/28/1998
Year: Junior
High School: Columbus (Columbus, MS)
Accolades: 1st Team AP All-SEC (2019), 2nd Team Coaches All-SEC (2019).

Speed/Athleticism: Excellent speed, athleticism, burst, and quickness. He has fluid speed and acceleration to create space on the outside. Hill has the burst to break into the open field as a threat. Will not outrun an entire NFL secondary, but he will get far.

Contact Balance: Shows good contact balance, resulting from strong core strength. Fights through contact, keeps legs churning and always falls forward. Finds creases in the line through contact.

Receiving Ability: Average receiver out of the backfield. Struggles to adjust his body to the football at times. Hands are inconsistent. Runs good routes but wasn’t asked to do so often by the coaching staff.

Blocking Ability: Excellent blocking ability. He always seems to position himself to pick up the free rusher. Plants well and serves the purpose of blocking very well.

Field Vision/Football IQ: Excellent field vision. Sees things that I can’t see on tape and comes out with good gains. Understands defensive concepts and seems to always pick up the free rusher. Knows when to be patient and when to plant the foot.

Leadership/Personality: N/A

Overall: Kylin Hill is a very good running back prospect. There are a lot of things there that NFL coaching staffs are going to love. He’s a great runner, an excellent blocker and he’s smart. To me, he’s a day two prospect. However, with the depth in this running back class this year, Hill is probably going to fall into the day three steal category.
