The UConn Huskies are the cellar of the AAC. They have been for most of the decade, as much as ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky would like us to forget (Much love to you, Dan). The program is leaving the AAC and moving to a smaller conference so as to better compete with their competition, after almost shutting down the entire program. That being said, this team is young and they are retaining almost everyone this season. Here is who they will offer the NFL this season.
OT Matt Peart (RS-Sr)
Matt Peart is my favorite tackle prospect in this class, maybe over the last few classes. His story is a fascinating one. Born in Jamaica, Peart grew into an incredible 6’7″ 300 pound frame. He got the opportunity to play football for the first time in high school, at Governors Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts. They won four league titles. Now, Peart is an allied health major with a concentration in occupational therapy.https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Want to talk about a guy who is athletic and just powerful? That’s Matt Peart. He struggles to gain control consistently, but his recovery skills are solid. Peart has an excellent opportunity in Mobile for the Senior Bowl, where he will be performing. With a good performance and excellent athletic testing, I’m thinking Peart could potentially rise into a late first round selection.
